I headed over to  Burnham Park, which, aside from being so close to Lake Shore Drive you may get hit by straying vehicles, is a gorgeous patch of prairie being restored. There is also a butterfly garden which I noticed on my way out and will have to postpone for another day, since I had to go to work downtown.

I hope to get to some other prairie sites soon. If anyone is interested in some collective prairie grass hunting, let me know. I'm busy, but game.April 6, 2007

New shots from the Nichols Park site.

Also, I got a few shots at the Native Plants Garden by Rockefeller Chapel

An exciting day of hard work and learning down at Midewin prarie in Wilmington (Ottawan for "healing"). I have several pics but not enough time to post them all just now. Other school work beckons. So I'll just post a couple now and then get to the rest after I've worked enough to ease the load of BA-procrastination guilt hanging over me.

More from Burnham.

April 14, 2007

I spent all morning out at Morton Arboretum clearing out invasive garlic mustard. The hilly wooded areas - felt just like home (Cincinnati, though it's much hillier than Morton).

April 24, 2007

More pictures from Nichols Park and the Native Plants Garden. I probably missed a couple of updates. BA thesis, a green roof, and 3 midterms are keeping me busy.

A great day down in Indiana Dunes National Park (same park as Mnoke Prairie). This time, succession.
